Before your operation

1 -Please avoid the medications in your preoperative list.
2 -Please take a home pregnancy test and notify the office of a positive result.
3 -Please have your prescriptions filled prior to surgery.
4 -Please have old towels available at home and old sheets on your bed and chairs.

After your operation

You will have several small incisions, which may drain fluid for the first 24-48 hours.
This fluid is usually blood tinged. It will resolve quickly.

5 -Leave towels down in your chair and bed to avoid getting the furniture wet.

6 -You may have two garments. One with a zipper and one without. You will be wearing the zippered garment home from the surgery. Please leave this one on for the night after surgery and the next day. After this, you may take the garment off and shower.

7 -The garments should be worn for 11 hours, and off for one hour and then repeat this cycle. The garments may alternated at your convenience. Usually the non-zippered garment is tighter and more difficult to get on.

8 -Please continue to drink several glasses of water a day after surgery.

10 -Expect the bruising to last up to 6 weeks, depending on your surgery.

11 -Begin to massage the areas deeply, as soon as can be tolerated. Please concentrate on any firm or hardening areas. This will improve your result.

12 -Please refrain from exercise while you are wearing the garment. You may casually walk about, however please avoid strenuous exercise.

13 -The garment wearing usually lasts approximately three to four weeks.

14 -Please call the office if you have any questions or if we may be of assistance.

15 -Please call the office if you develop an elevated temperature or if anything concerns you.

New Survey :Plastic surgeons get Botox too !

I've always wondered if doctors are more or less apt to seek treatment for medical conditions. Well, when it comes to plastic surgery, the doctor is often the patient, a new study finds.

In a survey of 276 members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 62 percent said they had gone under the knife for at least one procedure. Most receive minimally invasive procedures such as laser hair removal chemical peels and Botox -- no word of whether they throw Botox parties. A third had gone under a surgical procedure, with liposuction being the most common.

Women surgeons were more likely than men to have cosmetic surgery. The study about the survey -- appearing in the December issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery -- suggests they can be an asset to patients who are trying to decide which kind of reconstructive surgery to receive.

Is this the result of sheer vanity, having all these nifty tools within an arm's reach, or true medical necessity? I wonder.

6 tips to lose weight !

1-Be a SMART planner!

SMART means being Specific,Measured, Appropriate,Realistic, and Time-bound about what you plan to achieve.
For example, if your goal is to increase your physical activity, then write down the type of activity you plan to do,
how many times you can realistically do it each week, and for how long each time.
Start with small, short, and easier goals, and work your way up
Weight Loss Tips

2-Make yourself an offer you can’t refuse.

Before starting to reach your next goal, offer yourself a promise like this,
"If I reach my goal this (day, week, month), I will treat myself to a well-deserved (Fill in a reward here, but not a food
reward.).
Think of something you want, such as an afternoon off, a massage, a movie, or even a deposit toward a larger reward.
Be creative, set up rewards for yourself frequently, and make sure you give them to yourself when you reach your goal.

3-Balance your (food) checkbook.

Keep a diary of what you eat and how much physical activity you get each day.
Then, at the end of each week, record your weight in the same diary.
You and your health provider can use this information to adjust your eating and physical activity plan to find the best way to reach your goal .

4-Keep an eye on the size!

Did you know that we eat most of what is on our plate, no matter
what the size of the plate?
When at home, try using smaller plates; they will help you take smaller portions.
When eating out, share an entrée!
Studies show that portions today are often super-sized—enough for two or more people to share.

5-How much is enough activity?

You need to get at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity per day,
most days of the week to help burn up extra calories.
But give yourself credit for the activities that you’re already doing.
Common activities such as climbing stairs, pushing a stroller, gardening,
and walking all count as physical activity.
Just make sure you do enough of them .

6-Am I full yet?

The question may take longer to answer than you think.

It takes 15 minutes or more for the message that we’re full to get from our stomachs to our brains.
So take a few minutes before digging in for that next helping.
Having trouble feeling full?
Eight glasses (8 ounces each) or more of water or other noncaloric beverages daily fills you up and keeps you refreshed.
Also, vegetables and fruits can help you feel fuller, especially when eaten raw.

How you think for these tips ?
Hope you liked it
Waitng your comments ! :D
